Here at tALk active we are a team of qualified instructors who continually search for ways to improve your fitness journey, whether through Zumba, Modern Pilates, Dance & Tone or any of the different classes run by tALk active.
Each member of the team brings something unique and they have gained qualifications in a number of health and fitness courses.
I began my career in fitness 30 years ago and have been teaching exercise ever since. I have also lectured and researcherd into physical activity for health in Higher Education.
In 2010 I set up a tALkactive which is an organisation delivering exercise in the community. Our classes went online in March 2020.
I am a qualified in Pilates, exercise to music, fitness assessment, nutrition and weight management and exercise for the older adult. I have a special interest in working with active older adults and returners to fitness. My sole aim is to inspire people to adopt an active lifestyle.
Will the classes be suitable for me?
Our classes are suitable for a wide range of abilities and taught by a team of friendly, qualified instructors who are experienced in adapting exercises and encouraging you work at your own level. There’s lots to choose from including ZUMBA, ZUMBA Gold, Pilates and Meditation so there’s something for everyone and new content is added every month to keep things fresh. We are specialists in delivering exercise for active older adults and returners to fitness.
What will I need to take part?
You’ll need a suitable space for dancing in although this doesn’t need to be large because our dance routines are designed to be done at home. For Pilates, you’ll need a space large enough for a mat so you can do the floor exercises. Occasionally, we use exercise bands in some our Pilates classes but these are optional. Always make sure the space you use to exercise in is safe from trip hazards etc.
What will the classes be like?
Our Latin inspired ZUMBA fitness classes are great cardio classes! They’re lots of fun, easy to follow and taught by a team of ZUMBA instructors who will keep you motivated every step of the way. If you fancy something more challenging then you can try our SWEAT classes which are a form of high intensity training. Our Pilates classes are great for improving core strength, flexibility and balance. There are lots of Pilates classes to choose from including beginners, mixed ability and more specialised classes that target specific areas e.g. abdominals, legs, arms etc. Our team of qualified Pilates practitioners use excellent teaching skills to guide you through the exercises offering alternatives so you can work at your own level. The duration of our classes is between 30-45 minutes with the exception of SWEAT classes which are 10 minutes long.
What does my subscription include?
You can subscribe to individual courses for just £5 a month! Access to all courses is £10 a month. There are approximately 150 classes on the platform and once you’ve subscribed you can access these anytime and as often as you like. You can cancel your subscription anytime.
